W. O. Wolfe, father of famed author, Thomas Wolfe, operated a monument shop in Asheville (28 Pack Square). He supplied monuments for several of the graves at Riverside Cemetery. Some of his monuments have his signature at the base as the one shown here. Wolfe also worked in Raleigh and his monuments can be found in historic Oakwood Cemetery.
